OTTLEY R. COULTER

1890 - 1976

Ottley Coulter is acknowledged as Bodybuilding's first historian. His collection of bodybuilding memorabilia, amassed during his retirement years, forms an integral part of the Todd-McLean Collection at The University of Texas.

He was an early partner of George F. Jowett. Some claim that he actually wrote the course that became Jowett's mainstay. He may also have been responsible for the 'Molding' series of booklets that were sold by Jowett.
