The Woodward School of Physical Culture operated out of Blackpool, UK. It was run by Ken Woodward, son of Tom Woodward.
Father Tom had a varied life, first as a Miner and then later as a Professional Wrestler, Weighlifting & Wrestling Instructor and Masseur. He then went into Hand-Balancing and sold a postal instruction course on it.
He, and his son,
also had an Aerial Trapeze Act which was highly successful. Ken left the
act after WW2 to start the School of Physical Culture.
The Auto-Resista Course was just one of many that proliferated in 'Health & Strength'
and other magazines in the 40s & 50s.
It is believed that the Woodward School of Physical Culture operated right up to the early 70s.
